You have a great past ahead of you
If yesterday was about making sure todays, choices and priorities are ones you could live with, then today is the reward of making good, godly choices.
When we step into eternity every decision and choice we made we will be asked to give an account for.
“They do not consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness;” (What we call complacency, busyness or entertaining etc., God calls sin.)”Now their own deeds have surrounded them; They are before My face.” Hosea 7:2
“So then each of us shall give an account to God.” Romans 14:12
I didn’t even mention obvious ‘works of the flesh’ yesterday. But you know… we all have our weaknesses… so does our enemy. He knows AND he is watching and ready to deliver a fleshly appetizer that fits your need as soon as he sees you are vulnerable and exposed.
You reach for it and he will latch it onto you. Choices, priorities/pleasure, porn, alcohol etc., His only objective, as ruler of this world, is to steal, kill and destroy God’s best plan for you.
Daily we are at war. The battle lies within our choices.
Early in our marriage, Lenny was a man who seemed driven to make poor choices that threatened to self-destruct our marriage, our home and himself. That is who he WAS then – then he WAS different.
We are suppose to be different. Changed. Not just for a moment… we are being sanctified!! Set apart. Molded by the Potter’s loving hands. Are you, am I, getting hard? Hard-hearted? Indifferent. Hmmmm
Because Lenny quit running toward the world and stopped and surrendered to God. His life was changed. Our lives were different. Our marriage and home were redeemed. God was able to fulfill His glorious purpose for my incredible husband. Others lives were changed. Our children. Our children in the faith. Our faith family. Our communities. Everything.
I was blessed to have known and been known by such a man.
There is a life God rewards. When you stand before Him broken, and you repent and turn from self and sin (on this side of eternity) He reaches over and blots out your past with the blood of Christ.
I don’t know about you but I want to stand before Him and not be clutching onto anything from this world. I just want to be covered by grace, forgiven of the past that satan taunts me with, to be robed in white, reflecting my Savior. My life best lived out for His glory.
The simple truth is when we die: 1) we will some kind of legacy behind and 2) we will have something waiting ahead. Live today as if you would have no tomorrow.
You choose. What will you do with your time, treasures and talents? Your tomorrows?
